Matthew received his Juris Doctor degree from the Willamette University College of Law where he received multiple academic awards. He also attended the University of Oregon College of Law as a visiting student. Prior to law school he attended Southern Utah University and Utah State.

When Matthew is not practicing law, he is busy spending time with his five children. He loves being outdoors with his family, including camping and hiking. He is also an avid sports fan and Little League volunteer. During the baseball season he can be found supporting his children in baseball and fastpitch as well as the Seattle Mariners. He also enjoys theater and is a subscriber at The 5th Avenue Theater and Broadway at the Paramount.
